What you eat and drink may affect your IBD. It is important to be mindful of this. You should consult a dietician if you are unsure, however, some useful pointers are outlined for you below:1

Learn your triggers: After some time, you may become aware of certain foods
that trigger symptoms, bear in mind these aren't the same for everyone living
with IBD. Try to avoid these foods and talk to a dietician about alternatives

Monitor your fibre intake: Some people experience symptoms after eating
too much fibre. Consider avoiding eating excessive amounts of raw fruit and
vegetables

Avoid large meals: Try to limit your food intake so that you do not place
your digestive system under unnecessary strain

Avoid gassy food: As you may have experienced, some foods can give you
wind. These can include things like cabbage and broccoli, pulses (e.g.
lentils), dairy-rich foods and any other high fibre foods. If eating these foods
cause you discomfort, you may prefer sticking to foods that won’t upset
